“Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it; he who doesn’t, pays it.”

— Albert Einstein

“Health, wealth, and wisdom are like a three-legged stool.”

— Tim Ferriss

These two quotes completely changed my life. I understood the power of compounding and started applying it to three key areas in my life: health, wealth, and wisdom which are like a three-legged stool. Voila! A Compounding Project blog is born.

This blog is all about compounding. I’m obsessed with its application in real life. Through this blog, I share two major things:

  • How I apply the compounding principle to health, wealth, and wisdom?
  • How it is working in my life?

Why Health?

“Health isn’t everything, but without health, everything else is nothing.”

— Arthur Schopenhauer, a German philosopher

I believe that health is true wealth. Never ever take it for granted. It is difficult to reach full potential in life if we are unhealthy.

I don’t want to end up as a fat millionaire sitting in a Ferrari. I would rather become a millionaire with a six-pack sitting in a Toyota (no offense to Toyota!!).

Why Wealth?

Wealth equals freedom. Freedom to do what you want, when you want, how you want, and with whom you want. Nothing more than that. Wealth has the power to give you back your time, which is the most precious non-renewable resource. My biggest motivator to becoming wealthy is freedom. Period.

I strongly believe that building wealth isn’t about having the most money in the bank. It is about freedom. Money is a tool to get there but money isn’t the ultimate goal.

Significant wealth can be created through the amazing power of compounding. We just have to be consistent and give it enough time. The rest will take care of itself.

Why Wisdom?

Charlie Munger said, “Without lifelong learning, you’re not going to do very well. You’re not going to get very far in life based on what you already know.”

Lifelong learning is essential to long-term success. We have to constantly keep learning to become a better version of ourselves.

As Warren Buffett says, “Knowledge builds up, like compound interest.”

Lifelong learning gives me unlimited feeling of satisfaction and happiness.

Why Compounding?

Once I came up with the three core values in my life, I realized that it isn’t a short-term fix. It is a lifelong journey.

In simple terms, compounding is the magical result of small actions performed consistently over a long period of time.

Just like how compounding works in creating wealth, it can also work in becoming healthy and wise.

Success in health, wealth, and wisdom is the result of daily consistent actions – not once in a lifetime radical changes. I absolutely love the power of compounding!

Time is the most powerful force in compounding. Time is, and always will be, your most important asset. What you do with your time in your 20s, 30s, and 40s will have a significant impact on your life in your 50s, 60s and 70s.

“You only get one mind and one body. And it’s got to last a lifetime. But if you don’t take care of that mind and that body, they’ll be a wreck 40 years later…it’s what you do right now, today, that determines how your mind and body will operate 10, 20, and 30 years from now.”

— Warren Buffett

Start your compounding journey early and be consistent. In fact, with enough time, you could even move mountains!

Through this blog, I share my own journey on how I’ve been using the magic of compounding to be a little healthier, wealthier, and wiser than when I first started my compounding journey in 2017. I document my learnings, mistakes I’ve made, how compounding has been working in my life, and many more.
